外観は古いままで、内部だけ改装したビルが京都にもいくつかあります。二階建ての建物全体が飲食店であったり、雑貨店や飲食店、エステや美容室が入居する複合ビルもあり、その独特の雰囲気から人気です。４階建てであってもエレベーターなんてなく、木製の階段しかないのに、そんなことを気にする様子もなく、お客さんが楽しそうに上り下りしている。新築ビルよりはあるかに出店コストが低いので、工夫と発想でチャレンジする若い経営者さんには魅力的な物件でもあって。
